The mid-gen upgrade for the Xbox Series X which has been labelled with a codename Brooklin is set release alongside an updated version of the Xbox Series S labelled Ellewood.

This upgrade will not be dissimilar to previous iterations of console upgrades with the likes of the PS4 Pro and the Xbox One S which allowed players a taste of the latest in console technology.

The leaks have caused quite a stir online due to the sheer volume that has perforated across social media platforms and online news blogs, with user Hillai-Ben-Sasson from Wiz Blog taking to X to clarify how such a leak occurred.

Although the complexities of such a leak may elude the humble video game fan such as myself, the excitement around a prospective new console release as early as next year will surely be music to the ears of Microsoft and Xbox fans around the world.

Eurogamer have released a comprehensive article outlining the specifications of of Brooklin and Ellewood which effectively improve both consoles power efficiency, storage capacity and

sustainability whilst maintaining the original cost of $499 and $299 respectively.
