Fallout and Oblivion remaster in the pipeline.

It might not be a timeline on the development of Elder Scrolls IV or an update on Fallout 5, but it isn't far off.

As I am sure you have already heard there has been a mass leak within Microsoft and Xbox as business documents covering upcoming game releases, future consoles and internal messages all finding themselves open to the public.

These leaks amounted to around 38 TB of data which has been widely reported by multiple outlets such as The Verge, Eurogamer and Fortune.

Yet, despite the disappointment those at Xbox must be feeling in this moment, Xbox users and Bethesda fans have something to be extremely excited about, and that would be the news arising from these leaks that a Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls IV remaster are in the works.

According to a leaked ZeniMax Management Forecast, fans of the Elder Scrolls series were expected to be reunited with a fan favourite in The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. This would surely come as a surpise to many as most Elder Scrolls fans had assumed that Zenimax and Bethesda had no interest in remastering the title as many had placed their hopes on instead getting their hands on the much anticipated Skyblivion mod which is pegged to be released sometime in 2025.

Supposedly this remaster is meant to arrive sometime before the end of 2023, although I am skeptical that this is going to occur as we will shortly enter the final quarter of the year, it is exciting to think what a remastered Oblivion may bring.

On the other hand, the inclusion of a Fallout 3 master would be similarly anticipated by Bethesda fans as it was for many their first introduction to the wasteland and one that lives long in memory of those who played and enjoyed the title.

Unlike the 2023 release date pinned in the ZeniMax Management Forecast for Oblivion, the Fallout 3 remaster could be expected between 2025 and 2026, more in line with the projected release date of The Elder Scrolls VI.

Although much further away, the far release date gives me more hope that this remaster could have some real excitement around it as fans of the series would surely love to return to a new-gen rendition of the Capitol Wasteland.
