The Division 3 is in the works.

One of the stranger stories to emerge from todays video game related news is the mention of Julian Gerighty, who has now been appointed Executive Producer over at Ubisoft in supporting the development of their Third-Person shooter series The Division. However, within this article written by Lucy O' Brian from Ubisoft News, it is seemingly confirmed that Gerighty wants to reinvigorate the series with another installment of The Division.

O' Brian goes on to confirm that Gerighty will be taking a new role in the development of the franchise as he takes the step up from Creative Director, this move by Ubisoft and Gerighty is with the vision of improving the series as Gerighty reiterates that "It’s about refinement, it's about pushing the quality bar consistently forward.”

This is something that Ubisoft have been criticized for recently as the Far Cry and Assassins Creed franchises have begun to feel stale for some among the fanbase with former Ubisoft employees voicing their displeasure at the creative restrictions the company is currently facing.

Yet, here is to hoping that Gerighty's passion for The Division is well met and appreciated by fans of the series as a new iteration to the franchise with full new-gen capabilities could impress. Therefore, if we do see a return to The Division we can only hope that its eerily plausible and unforgiving world will stand out amongst some of the huge games set to release over the coming years.
