Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard has been widely reported since the takeover process began in January of 2022 as Microsoft announced their intention to acquire Activision Blizzard and they selection of video game titles.
However, until recently the CMA (the UK's Competition and Markets Authority) had stood firmly against such an acquisition as it deemed the takeover a threat to the markets stability and equality.

Yet, in September of 2023 the CMA finally approved Microsoft's takeover of Activision Blizzard and now both parties are hard at work attempting to complete the deal before any more concerns or roadblocks are raised in an attempt to stunt the deal.
In the last 24 hours it has been reported by The Verge and IGN that Microsoft is looking to complete the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Friday the 13th of October, next week at the time of writing.
This will come as exciting news to fans of Xbox and Activision alike as rumors around the Call of Duty franchise being added to Game Pass has been the center of debate for gamers.
As of now there is no official statement of intent from those at Microsoft, yet The Verge has been on top of the unraveling story since its conception so this is certainly one to keep a close eye on as we enter the closing stages of the Activision Blizzard takeover saga.
